Sara Starr’s journey into special needs began over twenty years ago with the birth of her eldest daughter. In striving to help her daughter, Sara learned a great deal about the potential of children; Sara believes and seeks out opportunities to expand on a child’s potential irrespective of the labels they are given and holds that to be an invaluable asset. Sara believes her daughter would not be where she is today without that belief and determination to bring about the realization of her daughter’s potential.
Sara has been further blessed to work with many many children along the way, including some with even higher levels of challenge. Her goal in applying everything she has learned as a special needs parent, care provider, director of services, parent consultant and advocate is to help inspire hope in parents, teachers and children. Despite real developmental obstacles, Sara reminds us we are free to pursue dreams for living happily and growing beyond the implied limitations of our labels.
Sara received post-secondary education at Brigham Young University, Delaware County Community College and Widener University. In 2012 Sara completed her BCEA - Board Certified Education Advocate through
NSEAI- National Special Education Advocacy Institute.
Additionally, Sara continues to increase her skills and educating herself by reading extensively, attending conferences and lectures throughout the region and networking with other professionals to effectively bring the best resources available together for her clients.
